Q. How do I get a copy of an accident report?
A. Come by the Sheriff's Office and pick it up or mail a written request and $5.00 to Franklin Co SO, P.O. Box 310, Carnesville, GA 30521. Provide the drivers name, date of the accident, and the accident number if you have it.
Q. Where do I get a Gun Permit?
A. Go to the Franklin County Probate Court and complete an application, bring that application to the Sheriff's Office along with a money order made out to GBI, in the amout of $24.00. We will process your finger prints and notify you when to come back and pickup the results.
Q. What can be done about stray dogs in my neighborhood?
A. Franklin County does not have a leash law. We do not have an animal control officer. However there is an animal shelter in Lavonia, if you can get the dog or cat to the animal shelter they will take it. You can also contact the Franklin County Marshall, he can provide some assistance with this problem, his number is 706-384-7443.
