Franklin County Sheriff's Office
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is
located in Carnesville, Georgia.   Stevie D.
Thomas took office as Sheriff January 1, 2005.
Our Department is divided into four divisions, Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations,
Detention, and Administrative Services.

The
Uniform Patrol Division handles
Calls for Service, Civil Process Service,
Court Security, Traffic Accident
Investigation, Traffic Enforcement, Criminal
Warrant Service and Crime Prevention
Patrol.

The
Criminal Investigations Division
investigates all major crimes from Murder to
Burglary and with the  assistance of the
Piedmont-Northern Multi Agency Narcotics
Squad (MANS) also illegal drug
invsetigations.

The
Detention Division runs and
maintains the County Jail that houses
inmates charged with a wide range of
crimes.  They house inmates that are either
awaiting trial or have been sentenced to the
county jail.

The
Administrative Services Division is
composed of the Records Department  the records clerks maintain all the arrest warrants, civil actions and reports for the Department.  Copies of Incident and Accident reports can be obtained through this division.  The ASD formally handled all radio traffic for the department, this is now done in the
